Online Success Workshop

(Expected time: 1 hour of uninterrupted time)

Welcome to the on-line Success Workshop!

This workshop is designed to assist you in making your journey through UHM a successful one.

You will need to go through each module successfully before continuing to the next one.  Once you have successfully completed all modules, you will be credited with having attended a Success Workshop.

In this workshop you will learn about academic policies of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences and UHM.  This is important because many students do not thoroughly read the notices of Probation and Suspension that they receive from the Colleges of Arts and Sciences.  The information gained from Online Workshop will help you prevent mistakes that become part of your permanent academic record.

You will also be introduced to key UHM campus resources that can be of service to you. UHM is a large institution with numerous offices, faculty and professionals who are here to help you.  Utilize as many resources as possible. It is up to you to ask for help.

You will complete a short time management exercise that will help you in prioritizing your commitments.

You will be introduced to an array of success strategies that may be useful to you.  Keep an open mind and don't be afraid to try something different.  These strategies were gathered from students who have attended Success Workshops and the Learning Assistance Center.

At the end of the workshop are two key questions for you to think about that will help you determine if school is a priority.

Lastly, you'll be given a few tips for increasing your academic performance at UHM.
