PROSPECTIVE INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES MAJORS All prospective Interdisciplinary Studies (I.S.) majors are required to complete a formal progress check prior to completing their proposal and declaring the I.S. major. This requires attending a JUMP Session, which can be done in an in-person group session, or online. For information on JUMP Sessions, follow the link.I.S. CAMPUS WIDE OPTION: For those on the Campus Wide Option (CWO), and who declared their I.S. major after August 2004, Arts & Sciences credit requirements differ. Please adjust the “A&S cr”total requirement to 70 credits on your worksheet. Courses in your I.S. major which come from the School of Hawaiian, Asian and Pacific Studies (SHAPS) are to be counted as A&S credits.
FORM 48/104-RCRITERIA AND COMPLETION PROCESS
All ROTC cadets who are applying and being recommended for ROTC scholarships are expected to complete academic plans (AFROTC Form 48, Army ROTC 104-R). The Colleges of Arts and Sciences is able to assist cadets who meet the following criteria:- Continuing University of Hawai'i at Mānoa students with a declared Arts and Science degree/major.
- Transfer students who have been admitted to UH Mānoa with an Arts and Science degree/major and who have received an official transfer evaluation from Admissions.
- New UH Mānoa freshmen who intend to complete an Arts and Science degree/major.
DEADLINES A&S views academic planning as a process, not a product. Cadets should be advised that although the end goal is the completion of the Form 48, the steps that they must go through take time, research, and careful thought and consideration. The process may require multiple follow-up advising sessions. Cadets who attempt to bypass the procedures for completing Form 48/104-R will not be accommodated by A&S. Plan accordingly; it is recommended that cadets begin working on the plan as soon as it is assigned. This will allow ample time to complete the required procedures.
PROCEDURES
All ROTC cadets must complete a JUMP Session. Complete your academic plan using the the forms provided as a part of the on-line JUMP Session. It is recommended that you do not transfer your work to Fomr 48/104-R until an academic advisor has verified it's accuracy in completing all course and credit requirements for the degree/major you wish to pursue.
Academic plans must include all remaining:- core, program and graduation requirements for your degree program, as presented on your program sheet (BA, BS, BFA/BMus)
- major courses, as verified by your major department and in the sequence they will be taken, if applicable
- credit requirements, as presented on your program sheet
- ROTC courses, as verified by your ROTC advisor, in the sequence they will be taken
