The services listed below are designed for students who have officially declared an A&S degree/major. If you are unsure what your current official major classification is, you can check by:

1. Running the STAR degree check (accessible as the second link on the left-hand side of the MyUH portal).

2. Click on the "From Your Advisor" Tab at the top. You should be able to see what degree/major you are currently declared as.

Students who are not graduating with an Arts & Sciences degree/major should go to the Manoa Advising Center for advising.

INCOMING FRESHMEN & TRANSFER STUDENTS (officially declared A&S degree):

CONTINUING CLASSIFIED STUDENTS (officially declared A&S degree):
SAME DAY ADVISING (SDA) APPOINTMENTS 956-8755, ext# 1 Confidential, one on one appointments with an academic advisor for questions and/or concerns pertaining to your personal student record.

To make an appointment, call or come to our Service Counter. A UHM student identification card is needed when scheduling your appointment in person and when checking in for your appointment. We begin scheduling for the day at 8:15; students signing up for times in-person at the counter are given priority over those calling in.

Get quick referrals and answers to your questions via phone.

If you have general questions to ask of an academic advisor, call us on our IDA line. Please note that in accordance with FERPA guidelines, we are unable to discuss personal information specific to your record over the phone. For example, we would not be able to tell you what your GPA is, but would be able to provide you with general information regarding academic actions such as probation, suspension and dismissal.

GROUP OR ON-LINE ADVISING WORKSHOPS

JUMP Sessions
JUMP Sessions allow students to do long-term academic planning. These group sessions are available only for students pursuing an A&S degree.

GRAD Sessions
MANDATORY for A&S students; to be completed one to two semesters PRIOR to the intended semester of graduation.

SUCCESS Online Workshop
The transition from high school or junior college to a major research university can be a difficult one. Go through the SUCCESS Online Workshop for interactive time management exercises, academic policy information, and identification of UHM offices and programs which can help you.
