ROTC Planning - What's Next?

When you are done with the draft of your academic plan, double check to ensure that all remaining requirements are covered:

  • core, program and graduation requirements for your degree program, as presented on your program sheet (BA, BS, BFA/BMus)

  • major courses, as determined by your major department and in the sequence they will be taken, if applicable

  • credit requirements, as presented on your program sheet -- pay particular attention to your A&S credits

  • ROTC courses, in the sequence they will be taken

MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT FOR ADVISOR REVIEW and SIGNATURE

Call 956-8975 (ext. 1) to schedule a same day appointment. Please plan ahead – during peak advising periods, it will be difficult to obtain an advising appointment at the time you want.

During the appointment, your plan will be reviewed and adjusted as needed.  A completed Progress Worksheet and Academic Plan must be brought to the appointment or cadets will not be accommodated.

Once verified as satisfactory, you will then transfer your work to the Form 48/104-R for the advisor’s signature.

You will need to return each year for an advisor's signature, verifying satisfactory progress.  You will not need to draft a new Form 48 unless:

  • You change your major
  • You change your degree program (from BA to BS, for ex.)
  • You make extensive changes to your plan through course substitutions, in which case the advisor will recommend the drafting of a new plan at your annual review.

IMPORTANT: If you are one to two semesters away from graduation, you must attend a mandatory GRAD Session.  Completing a Form 48 does not substitute for a GRAD Session.
