List of What to Bring

Peer mentors are not allowed to access students’ files. However, they can provide many basic services to students. If students bring in materials with them, peer mentors can also help students to figure out how to count the courses they have already taken and what other courses they may need. (If a student’s acceptance is pending or is recent, advisers also will not be able to access that student’s course evaluation.) In order that the FYAC can better work with students, students are encouraged to bring:

any informal transcripts or printouts of courses and grades from the colleges / schools attended
transcript evaluations
catalogs from previous schools
course syllabi for courses that may be re-evaluated
any other advising materials (i.e. core sheets, evaluations from other schools, etc.)
a list of preliminary questions
a list of courses that the student is thinking of taking
